Report: Bush administration used blackmailed judges to approve NSA spying

Officials of the National Security Agency requested warrantless wiretapping from the chairman of the President’s National Security Telecommunications Advisory Council (NSTAC) at a meeting at NSA headquarters on February 27, 2001, seven months before the 9/11 attack.

This stunning revelation was made by the former NSTAC chairman, Joseph Nacchio, who cited court documents from the government’s retaliatory 2005 case against him for insider trading. Nacchio made his remarks at a Newsmaker press conference at the National Press Club on July 29.

In response to NSA’s request, Nacchio asked the agency representatives if they had a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court warrant. The reply was no. Nacchio then asked them if they had presidential executive authority. The answer was again no. Although Nacchio also served as chairman and CEO of Qwest Communications, his refusal to provide NSA with warrantless wiretapping of Qwest lines was made more significant in his role as NSTAC chairman. Other NSTAC members quickly followed suit in rejecting NSA’s request. They included AT&T, SBC Communications, Sprint, Bell South, Verizon, WorldCom, and others.

The Bush administration retaliated against Nacchio by indicting him for insider trading in 2005, five days before the expiration of the statute of limitations. Rather than try Nacchio in the Southern District of New York, where the alleged trades were made, or the Northern District of New Jersey, where Nacchio resided, the Department of Justice went judge shopping and decided to indict in Denver, the location of Qwest’s corporate headquarters. George Nottingham, the judge chosen was in a blackmailable position.

After trying Nacchio, Nottingham resigned after he was accused of obstruction of justice involving prostitutes and strippers. It was clear that NSA, which operates a large signals intelligence processing center in Aurora, near Denver, was aware that Nottingham had personal problems that could be exploited by Justice Department prosecutors. And that is exactly what happened when Nottingham disallowed Nacchio’s defense team’s evidence of NSA’s attempt to get Nacchio to break the law in 2001 by permitting unlawful intercepts. The NSA wanted to make Nacchio an example for all the other telecommunications CEOs. As a result, the Bush administration discovered that its warrantless program code named STELLAR WIND had the full support of the CEOs who fell in line after 9/11.

An unnamed U.S. intelligence agency also requested Nacchio to have Qwest’s European subsidiary hire certain employees for unspecified purposes. As a result of Edward Snowden’s revelations, it is now known that NSA’s and its British counterpart’s Operation SOCIALIST, implanted engineers into Belgacom’s switches in Brussels to conduct illegal wiretapping.

Bacchio served six years at the federal penitentiary in Schuykill, Pennsylvania. He was released in 2013. Nacchio maintains his innocence and says that he was selected for prosecution by a Justice Department willing to retaliate for his refusal to follow NSA’s orders.

Nacchio also cited court records showing that he was lured to NSA in February 2001 to supposedly meet with General Michael Hayden, NSA’s director. Hayden never showed for the meeting as it was a ruse to get Nacchio into one of NSA’s top secret rooms called a SCIF.The meeting started out with a conversations about GROUNDBREAKER, a new signals intelligence infrastructure, which, along with TRAILBLAZER, were major pet projects of Hayden. Both systems also disregarded the U,S, Constitution and NSA’s own regulations against eavesdropping on U.S. citizens. NSA insiders charged Hayden with his own “insider trading” by awarding lucrative contracts to his favorite firm, SAIC, in return for a cushy job after his retirement from the Air Force. Hayden is now a business partner of Michael Chertoff, the former Homeland Security Secretary.

Nacchio criticized the government’s prosecutori regime. He said that 98 percent of all federal indictments are plea bargained out.Of the two percent that go to trial, the governmrent has a 95 percent win rate, which is greater than those of the USSR and Nazi Germany.

Media cares more about "Cecil the Lion" than African-American killed by police

The mainstream media has published over nine times as many articles about the late Cecil the Lion than Samuel DuBose, the unarmed African-American who was shot in the head by a University of Cincinnati cop.

Additionally, leftist politicians and media pundits are also trying to prevent a pro-life group from releasing more undercover Planned Parenthood videos, even though nearly 2000 African-Americans are aborted every day in the U.S. alone.

A quick search on Google News reveals that around 12,600,000 articles containing the phrase “Cecil the Lion” were published over the past couple of days, but in comparison there’s been only 1,800,000 articles about DuBose, who died after Officer Ray Tensing shot him during a July 19 traffic stop over an alleged missing license plate.

Even comedian Jimmy Kimmel choked up on air over the death of Cecil, who was killed by a Minnesota dentist during a safari hunt on July 1, but Kimmel hasn’t similarly shed tears over DuBose nor has he ever commented on Boko Haram, the Ebola crisis and the bloodshed in Sudan.

“Also absent from his [Cecil the Lion] monologue was any mention that Zimbabwe is run by a maniac accused of genocide who ate a baby elephant at his 91st birthday party,” Twitchy reported.

And Zimbabwe residents are confused as to why leftists care more about a lion than people.

“Why are the Americans more concerned than us?” Zimbabwe resident Joseph Mabuwa said to Reuters. “We never hear them speak out when villagers are killed by lions and elephants in Hwange.”

But while liberals are exploding in rage over the death of Cecil, they are not quite as angry at Planned Parenthood for chopping up dead African-American babies for resell.

“I’m against online mobs as a general rule, but [Cecil’s killer] Walter Palmer deserves all of the public shaming,” Time’s Jill Filipovic tweeted only hours after claiming Planned Parenthood was ‘saving lives’ by salvaging aborted babies.

The reality, however, is that African-Americans account for over one-third of all abortions in America even though they represent only around 12% of the population and black babies are five times more likely to be aborted than whites.

Overall, since Roe v. Wade in 1973, an estimated 16 million blacks have been aborted.

“We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,” Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger famously said in 1939.

“The idea that “Cecil the Lion” is eliciting more grief than the children who have fallen victim to Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer-subsidized human butcher shop ought to make you as itchy as it does me. There’s a moral equivalency at work there that gives me the willies.”

TNS/Protesters left signs and stuffed animals in front of the Minnesota dental practice of Walter Palmer, who is accused of killing Cecil, a beloved lion, in Zimbabwe.

For bow-hunting an animal in Zimbabwe, Walter Palmer’s family, livelihood and very life are now under threat. The Minnesota dentist has been driven into hiding by a nearly global mob armed with everything short of torches and pitchforks. He’s closed his thriving dental practice in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and has literally closed the door on the world against a torrent of invective ranging from disinterestedly disapproving to imaginatively graphic. Signs outside Palmer’s dental practice ran the gamut from the dubious “We Are Cecil” to the hyperbolic “ROT IN HELL!”

Of course, the media set up camp outside the poor guy’s home and business like the Turks laying siege to Vienna. Reporters flipped perfect hair and flashed perfect smiles from the foot of the Palmer family driveway. Actresses like Mia Farrow even published the Palmer family’s address, extending the cone of malevolence to include Palmer’s wife and two children, who have yet to be accused of anything.

I hunt regularly, although I don’t take trophies. I have no objection to trophy hunting, as long as the remainder of the animal is consumed. All true hunters agree that dragging some animal out of the bush so you can nuke it with a perfectly tuned .375 H&H from the comfort of an air-conditioned Range Rover is the sporting equivalent of fishing in an aquarium — especially if you add the unpardonable sin of leaving the carcass to spoil rather than properly dressing it and disposing of the offal. And all true hunters frown on illegally baiting and taking the animal outside a legal area. But I believe there are legal recourses for that level of criminal behavior. To the best of my recollection, they generally involve fines. If Palmer, who maintains his innocence, did knowingly participate in the illegal harvesting of a regionally popular animal, then he ought to pay for it. The guy coughed up 55 large to play cowboys and lions; I expect he can afford to scrape together a hefty fee to remunerate the Zimbabwean government for its time. God knows they’re strapped for cash in Robert Mugabe’s personal African playground.

But that’s not enough for quite a few members of his sudden chorus of critics. These people want blood — in some cases, quite literally. Disgraced former game show host Piers Morgan declared his hope to “skin (Palmer) alive, cut his head from his neck, and (take) a bunch of photos of us all grinning inanely at his quivering flesh.” A British guy who thinks the 2^ndAmendment needs work would like to brutally murder another human being because he killed a fluffy, lovable lion with an adorable little nickname.

And that brings up what I think is an entirely fair question: Have you people lost your bloody minds? Planned Parenthood has killed millions of babies right here in the United States, and they’ve done it on your nickel! 

If the trend of the stomach-churning anti-humanity Planned Parenthood butchers have displayed in the series of videos famously hitting the Web of late continues on the same upward curve, the next one will feature Planned Parenthood honcho enjoying a nice meal of white wine and grilled toddler. The idea that “Cecil the Lion” is eliciting more grief than the children who have fallen victim to Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer-subsidized human butcher shop ought to make you as itchy as it does me. There’s a moral equivalency at work there that gives me the willies.

And if the ongoing holocaust of abortion and baby parts black markets doesn’t sway your sensibilities back into balance, think of it from a scientific perspective. Over 4.4 billion years, Cecil the Lion’s ancestors fought their way through the perils and pitfalls of natural selection to arrive in 2015 as 500-pound, 35 mph-running, razor-sharp claw-swiping, top-of-the-food-chain predators. Palmer’s ancestors spent the same amount of time developing cerebral cortices and opposable thumbs. Humanity wins, because humanity always wins — except when it preys on itself.

White House says it has no intention of launching investigation into fetal organ harvesting allegations

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest defended Planned Parenthood at a press conference Thursday, saying videos showing representatives explicitly discussing the alleged sale of aborted fetal tissue are “not a lot of evidence” of illegalities, and that Planned Parenthood “lives up to the highest ethical standards.”

Speaking to Fox News’ Doug McKelway, Earnest said the Obama administration has no intention of pursuing an investigation into the allegations, despite numerous calls from members of Congress to defund the abortion provider, and independent investigations launched by various state governors.

“Has the White House had any communication with Planned Parenthood about standardizing procedures for fetal tissue research? Has the White House had any concerns about illegalities in this realm? Have you had any sort of investigation, or are you considering one?” McKelway asks.

“Not that I’m aware of,” Earnest says. “I think Planned Parenthood has been quite specific about the policies and procedures that they have in place, and I know they have described those policies and procedures as living up to the highest ethical standards.”

Man Shot Over Confederate Flag

It was only a matter of time before the media-driven kerfuffle over the Confederate flag led to violence, and now that time has come. In South Bend, Indiana, a 28-year-old man was shot Thursday when he got into a confrontation at a local convenience store. According to the South Bend Tribune, the incident took place around 6:30 in a predominantly black section of town. Witnesses say the man pulled into the store driving his white SUV which displayed the controversial flag. There, he got into a shouting match with a group of black men in the parking lot.

“I’ve never known him to use any racial slurs,” said one of the victim’s friends, Cally Baker. “Unless someone provoked him, I can’t imagine him just blurting out the N-word.”

Witnesses say he was provoked, however, leading to racial slurs on both sides of the encounter. At some point in the confrontation, one of the black men pulled a gun and shot him twice. The victim was found later a block east of the scene, bleeding but alive. He is currently resting at home and is expected to make a full recovery.

“The whole situation is kind of crazy,” said Baker. “I just don’t want it to become a huge racial thing.”

Well, it’s a white man shot by blacks, so there’s little danger of that. If the races had been reversed, this story would be on the front page of every newspaper in the country. Protestors would be back out on the streets. If a white man had shot a black man waving a Black Panthers flag, every pundit in America would have something to say about it. Hell, even with the story the way it is, it won’t take long for enterprising liberals to blame white racism for the violence.

Alas, this is what happens when the media ignites a firestorm over symbols that mean something dear to millions of Americans. They have done everything in their power to equate the Confederate flag with the Nazi swastika, and a great many people are buying into it hook, line, and sinker. They don’t understand that to southerners – and even a fair share of northerners – that flag represents something much bigger than slavery or racism or whatever else the elitists think. It represents freedom, solidarity, culture, and heroism. And the people who stand behind those concepts are not about to let the New York City establishment tell them that they are bad people.

So where does that leave us? It leaves us with a country divided ever further. This may be the first shooting in direct connection to the Confederate flag, but it probably won’t be the last. Racial tensions are higher than they’ve been in years, and eventually that anger is going to boil over.

China’s Stock Market Just Crashed in the Most Predictable Way

Just last month, Chinese stocks were on one hell of a hot streak. The Shenzhen and Shanghai stock exchanges had risen to unprecedented heights, and were worth a total of $10 trillion.
But by early July, their value had plummeted by a whopping 30% in a very short time frame.
The Chinese government stepped in with several market controls to stabilize their stocks, which actually succeeded for a while. The government worked with several top financial firms to buy $20 billion in stocks, and over 1,400 companies were allowed to suspend the trading of their shares, among many other measures.
However, they just found out the hard way, that you can’t really plug a sinking ship.

Chinese equities have suffered the sharpest one-day crash in eight years, sending powerful tremors through global commodity markets and smashing currencies across East Asia, Latin America and Africa.
The Shanghai Composite index fell 8.5pc despite emergency measures to shore up the market, with a roster of the biggest blue-chip companies down by the maximum daily limit of 10pc. The mood was further soured by news that corporated profits in China are now contracting in absolute terms, falling 0.3pc over the past year.
The violence of the moves unnerved investors worldwide, stirring fears that the Communist Party may be losing control after stoking a series of epic bubbles in property, corporate investment and equities to keep up the blistering pace of economic growth.

In all honesty, this was entirely predictable. I described how well this strategy would work on July 7th when the Communist party first decided to dump money into their stock market, in the hopes that this would stop its precipitous decline.

What’s worse, is how financial institutions in China are reacting to the healthy dose of realism that their stock market so desperately needed. The country’s top stock brokerages decided to collectively buy almost $20 billion in stocks to help stabilize the market, part of which was supplied by the government. You might recognize this as the award winning strategy that was employed by several top financial firms in the US, just after the market crash of 1929. The Great Depression quickly followed.

Of course, anyone could have predicted that. While a depression has yet to develop in China, their stocks are falling despite the best efforts of their government and other major financial institutions (which are really just an extension of the Communist Party). There is a clear historical precedent for this sort of thing. Once a bubble pops, pumping more air into it will never blow it back up. The best you can do is blow more bubbles into other sectors of the economy, which is exactly what China has been doing for years to stave off a genuine correction in their markets.
You might notice that this is the same strategy employed by America’s financial elite. We’ve managed to keep our economy afloat for decades by bouncing from one economic bubble to the next, accumulating more and more debt along the way. But at the end of the day, that can’t work forever. There needs to be a correction at some point, and the longer they wait, the worse it will be when it finally comes crashing down. And that day seems to be long overdue for the likes of China, the US, andthe rest of the world.
