CALIFORNIA’S WATER BOND (PROP 1)
TAXPAYERS BEING FORCED TO FEED WESTLANDS AND KERN WATER AGENCIES
Prop. 1 adds over $14.4 billion in taxpayer debt (including interest) to:
Help exporters take water from Northern California rivers, threatening the salmon industry, jobs, and fisheries.
Force taxpayers to buy water that the public already owns to protect fish and to ensure reliable supplies for export.
Help industrial farming operations overpump the San Francisco Bay Delta and avoid fixing the environmental damage they cause.
Subsidize private interests who want to build expensive dams that will only increase water supply by 1%
Prop. 1
Crowds out funding for public schools, public roads, public health and safety.
Does little to relieve the current drought.
Requires taxpayer repayment of $360 million per year for 40 years.
