TiLTNews Network: Earth Watch - Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference, not by safety. Leftist media is now promoting “pedophile rights” as the next “social justice” movement, not long after the Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriages.
Salon.com published an op/ed by a self-described pedophile asking Americans to “learn to accept” pedophiles and be “understanding and supportive” of their “sexual orientation.”
“So, please, be understanding and supportive,” pedophile Todd Nickerson wrote. “It’s really all we ask of you.”
He blamed his “sexual preference” on his brain while asserting he’s “not a monster.”
“In essence, your brain knows what it likes and isn’t going to take no for an answer,” Nickerson continued. “For that reason, the nature or nurture question with respect to sexual preference is ultimately irrelevant — it becomes all but hardwired soon enough, until it’s all you know, and it’s self-reinforcing, no matter how much you wish to dig it out.”
“Eventually it all tangles together with the rest of who you are.”
Numerous political commentators predicted that pedophiles would try to hijack the June 26 Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriages to argue that they too are “suffering” discrimination over their “normal” sexual orientation.
“Using the same tactics used by ‘gay’ rights activists, pedophiles have begun to seek similar status arguing their desire for children is a sexual orientation no different than heterosexual or homosexuals,” wrote Jack Minor for the Northern Colorado Gazette.
Minor also added that “psychiatrists are now beginning to advocate redefining pedophilia in the same way homosexuality was redefined several years ago.”
This trend began in 1998 when the American Psychiatric Association claimed the “negative potential” of adult sex with children was “overstated” and that “the vast majority of both men and women reported no negative sexual effects from childhood sexual abuse experiences.”
And in 2014 Margo Kaplan, an assistant law professor at Rutgers University, argued in favor of civil rights for pedophiles in an op/ed published by the New York Times.
“Arguing for the rights of scorned and misunderstood groups is never popular, particularly when they are associated with real harm, but the fact that pedophilia is so despised is precisely why our responses to it, in criminal justice and mental health, have been so inconsistent and counterproductive,” she claimed.
Simply put, pedophilia is emerging as the next “sexual rights” revolution.

MACKINAC ISLAND — For the second time in two years, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky has won the presidential straw poll at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference, according to results released late Saturday.
But California businesswoman Carly Fiorina, buoyed from the momentum of what was seen as a strong debate performance Wednesday, finished second.
Paul received 22% support in the poll of more than 2,200 conference attendees, according to the poll conducted by the Lansing political newsletter MIRS and The Detroit News.
Paul, the only presidential candidate to attend the conference both this year and when it was last held in 2013, also won the 2013 straw poll.
With 785 ballots counted, Paul was first with 22% and Fiorina was second with 15%.
Ohio Gov John Kasich was third with 14% and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz finished fourth with 13%, according to the released results.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush had 9.7%; Florida Sen. Marco Rubio had 8.4%, New York businessman Donald Trump had 6.8%; neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson had 5.5% and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker had 2.6%.
Other candidates receiving votes had less than 1%.
Paul, Fiorina, Kasich, Cruz and Bush were the five candidates who spoke at the conference, which ends Sunday.
John Yob, a Grand Rapids consultant who serves as Paul's national political director, said the Mackinac straw poll has historically been a strong indicator of which candidate wins Michigan.
Though officials with other campaigns complained the Paul campaign made a concerted effort to bring people to the island to resister for the conference so they could vote in the straw poll, Yob said other campaigns spent considerable amounts trying to improve their own performances in the poll.
"That's what organizational contests are all about," and "Rand Paul is going to over-perform in organizational contests around the country."

Amid anti-immigration protests, Finnish authorities said they have begun to impose controls at the border with Sweden as a result of the influx of people who have entered Finland this year.
Finland to Toughen Migration Policy Amid EU Refugee Crisis
Finnish police began checking people who arrived across the border with Sweden on Saturday, due to a rapid rise in the number of refugees and migrants entering the country.
"From now on, people crossing the border in Tornio will have their documents checked by the police," stated the Finnish Interior Ministry.
The northern Finnish city of Tornio forms a cross-border twin city with the town of Haparanda in Sweden; together they have 32 500 inhabitants.
Police begin monitoring the border crossing in Tornio, announces Interior Ministry.
The system of border cooperation between the towns was established so that the region could "enjoy the benefits of two countries but address the obligations of one country," according to the Finnish administration of Lapland.

Swedish Foreign Minister Diagnoses Finland With Refugee Amnesia
The Finnish authorities' order to impose more stringent controls at the border came as hundreds of people held an anti-immigration protest in the center of Tornio, and formed a human wall to express their opposition to migration.
"We oppose so many asylum-seekers coming to Finland," one couple at the demonstration told Finnish broadcaster YLE.
"We have only seen men, no families. These are welfare refugees and that is why we are protesting," explained another protestor.
100 HUMAN WALL MANNED AT TORNIO-HAPARANDA BORDER WITH FINLAND AND SWEDEN…….
Earlier this month YLE reported that up 300 people illegally cross the border into Tornio every day.
According to official figures released last week, 11,263 people have sought asylum in Finland so far in 2015. The Interior Ministry expects 30,000 asylum seekers to reach Finland this year, almost ten times the 3,651 people who claimed asylum in Finland in 2014.
