Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference,
not by safety. It is easy to clamor for government security when terrible things happen; but liberty is given true meaning when we support it without exception, and we will be safer for it ~ Dr. Ron Paul
Nearly 14 years after the attacks on September 11, 2001, Melissa and I visited Ground Zero.
The whole thing is like a twisted theme park.
It was the first time she had ever been, but I had gone many times; regardless, we were both shocked at how over-the-top, corporatized, whitewashed, and smoothly packaged the whole place was. They have a $24 museum (although kids under 6 get brainwashed for free!) and kiosks selling approved 9/11 story books and tours and donation boxes everywhere where you can give even more. The government lie continues to be very profitable it seems.
Ground Zero has officially become the Disneyland of mass murder.
Worse, remember when Americans were told that the terrorists attacked us because they hate our freedoms? Well now, ironically and pathetically, signs placed all over Ground Zero inform you that you are not allowed to exercise any of those freedoms at the very place we were supposedly attacked over them.
Signs proclaim “Prohibited behavior includes, but is not limited to:”
Expressive activity that has the effect, intent, or propensity to draw a crowd, except by permission.
Demonstrations, rallies, soliciting, leafleting, promotion, and any third-party vending.
Use of loud amplified devices.
Commercial filming, photography, or audio recording (oops) except by permission.
On top of that, other “Visitor Rules of Conduct” signs “remind” you that the 9/11 Memorial “is a place of remembrance and quiet reflection.” Not only should visitors “exercise proper decorum, personal behavior, and conduct at all times,” (whoever gets to decide what that means), but “All visitors and belongings are subject to security screening at the discretion of the 9/11 Memorial,” meaning they have declared their staff can stop and search you at any moment you are on the grounds for any reason they deem necessary.
It’s just so… free.

On the heels of the unprecedented proximity of 5 Chinese naval ships in the Bering Sea, U.S. military satellites have been tracking a Russian spy ship – capable of cutting undersea communications cables and other sensors – since it was spotted in the north Atlantic last month off the coast of Kings Bay, Ga., home to the U.S. Navy’s East Coast ballistic missile submarine fleet. As FOX News reports, The Pentagon says the ship is transiting toward its next destination – Cuba.
At the U.S. sub base in Georgia, there are six Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines, known as “boomers,” each capable of firing 24 Trident intercontinental ballistic missiles. Each missile holds up to 10 independent nuclear warheads. In addition to the ballistic missile subs, there are two other guided-missile subs capable of firing hundreds of Tomahawk cruise missiles.
As FOX News reports, a Russian intelligence ship, capable of cutting undersea communications cables and other sensors, has been spotted by the U.S. military off the coast of Kings Bay, Ga., home to the U.S. Navy’s East Coast ballistic missile submarine fleet.
U.S. military satellites have been tracking the Russian spy ship since it was spotted in the north Atlantic last month and slowly began transiting toward its next destination — Cuba. A senior military official said the ship is now about 300 miles off the coast of the U.S., as it heads toward the island.
Another senior defense official told Fox News that while the Pentagon is tracking the Russian intel ship, the Russian ship “remains in international waters.”
This news comes on the heels of Chin’as unprecedented proimity to the US coastline, and is not the first time for Russia…
In January, another Russian spy ship was spotted moored in Havana harbor in Cuba. Russian intel ships have been spotted in Cuba on a number of occasions in the past year.
The Washington Free Beacon was first to report the most recent sighting of the Russian spy ship.
In April, the head of the U.S. military’s Northern Command, Adm. Bill Gortney, confirmed the presence of two other Russian military ships operating near the United States at the time.
“They were the same ships that took part in the Russian-Chinese naval exercises which recently concluded in the Sea of Japan,” the official said.

Of course, this is no surprise to US military…
When asked if the U.S. had similar spy ships off the coast of Russia, he answered, “Of course we do, what do you think all those ‘oceanographic ships’ are doing, studying whales?”
